Let It go - Lyrics

(J McKinnies)

Intro

I gotta get up out of my mind

These thoughts, taking hold of my spine

Got to keep on tryin’

Verse 1

oh, far too many hours days and years of mine

Have I wasted time

Humming blusey songs

That affirm all that's wrong

When the habit’s strong

Turnstiles take their toll

Break the cycles take control

Chorus

Let it go

Thinking that some things I can’t forgive

Let it go

The faults the failures and the broken promises

Let it go

They move on while I just let resentment stew

Let it go

Holding on to what they did or didn’t do

Let it go, all the stressin’

Let it go, my second guessin’

Let it go, needing perfection

Let it go, my self aggression

Let it go, childhood trauma

Let it go, my worried Mama

Let it go, workplace drama

Let it go, from here on I’m gon

Let it go

Verse 2

Is the me that I perceive

Truly my identity?

Or could it be a figment of reality?

(What’s reality?)

Affections and aversions and

Obsessions and perversions

Do distort the soul’s excursions

When the goal is whole immersion

Into light, cosmic conversion

inner fight, but I say searchin’

Grappling with ego around in circles we go

Chorus II

Let it go

Who I thought I was or I must be

Let it go

That Judgement god who lives outside of me

Let it go

Those people who don’t edify my life

Let it go

Those routines that don’t electrify my light

Let it go, all the stressin’

Let it go, my second guessin’

Let it go, needing perfection

Let it go, my self aggression

Let it go, childhood trauma

Let it go, my worried Mama

Let it go, workplace drama

Let it go, from here on I’m gon

Let it go

About Cosmic Link

Cosmic Link consists of…

Florida based Jay Myztroh, a professional singer-songwriter and university trained composer/conductor, and Bristol based producer Ben Dubuisson, best known for the Hundred Strong project. Introduced by mutual artist friends, the catalyst for their collaboration was the 2017 album 'Black Diamonds' by Jay's previous project Stono Echo, produced by the late great Paten Locke (who linked the two together). Over the course of a few years they began remotely exchanging music and lyrics, building a catalogue of finished tracks that grew into this EP.
